Connect for Health Colorado Open Enrollment runs November 1st through January 15 annually. Outside open enrollment, you may qualify to purchase health insurance if you have a qualifying life change event. Traditional life change events include getting married, having a baby, losing health insurance, gaining an eligible immigration status, getting divorced, etc.
The extra help paying for health insurance made possible by the American Rescue Plan has been extended through 2025. People with a 2022 plan will begin receiving annual notices about changes to their plan and pricing for next year. The insurance company sends a packet as does Connect for Health CO. If there is a difference in pricing, go with the Connect for Health CO notice. Even if your notice says you can do nothing and your plan will renew for next year, it is worth taking a moment to meet with an assister and make sure your information is up to date and there is not a better plan for next year.
A new enrollment option called Colorado Connect will begin enrolling in January plans November 1. Assisters can help you compare if this might be a better option for you. It might be a better option for people who don't qualify for any premium assistance through Connect for Health CO and people affected by the "family glitch". Undocumented people will be able to shop through Colorado Connect as well.
On both platforms, new plans with Colorado Option in the name will be offered by all companies at all tier levels. Plans with Colorado Option in the name will offer the same benefits from all companies but the networks and premiums will vary by company. To learn more go to connectforhealthco.com or contact SRDA at 719-583-6611 or any of our partners listed under the "about" tab.
